Bank Giro Credit: (BGC)This is our usual method of payment for the majority of sub-contractors. Available as cleared funds in your bank account by close of business Friday, following the week you worked. (For weekly paid sub-contractors) Cheque:Since we lose so many cheques in the post, we actively discourage payment in this manner. We charge £5 for all cheques to cover the cost of cancelling the many cheques which go astray. Posted out on Thursdays. CHAPS:By special request, we are able to offer this facility at a cost of £10.00 We also utilise this facility if either an agency or contractor has made a mistake which will result in delays to a sub-contractor receiving funds. Under these circumstances, we do not charge.
Funds reaching your bank account:As stated above, the usual method of payment in BGC. This is an electronic form of payment which is initiated by us, usually on a Wednesday, in order to arrive at your bank on the Friday. On those occasions when Friday is a bank holiday, we do all we can to ensure that your funds arrive on the Thursday, although we are heavily dependant upon the agency or contractor with whom you are contracted, to ensure that we receive the funds a day earlier than normal in order to do this. This usually happens without any problems. In the event of any problems with computer hardware, software, power supply or telephone lines etc. we have a back up system which may result in us having to make a same day transfer of funds on the Friday. We do not guarantee to have payments into your account on Friday by any particular time, purely because once the funds have left us, everything is out of our control. Very often a BGC is there first thing on a Friday and you may well get accustomed to this being the case. On one or two isolated occasions, where we have experienced technical problems such as those listed above, batches of payments have been made by CHAPS, at our expense. On these occasions, funds turn up later in the day. There is nothing that can be done to speed up the process. We are exceptionally proud of our payment track record. In excess of 99.8% of all payments made by us have arrived at the right account on the right day. The few times where monies have been late, or gone stray are invariably as a result of incorrect bank details having been supplied, or, very occasionally, where somebody banks with an unusual bank or building society which, for whatever reason, is unable to process payments in the normal way.
